Buzzfeed, home of any list you could ever want (and then some), has released their list of 21 books to read before they come to theatres this year. I always loving reading the book before seeing the movie, if I can help it. The movies are almost never as good to me.
Some of my highlights from this list:
- The Martian, Andy Weir – this was on my to-read list already. I didn’t know it’s being made into a movie! But I have until November to read it so plenty of time.
- The Mortdecai Trilogy, Kyril Bonfiglioli – I probably won’t see this movie, particularly in theatres, but the description of the book sounds like it’s right up my alley!
- Dead Stars, Bruce Wagner – I’ve never heard of this but I’m all about any sort of “satirical takedown of Hollywood culture and fame”. Sounds interesting, whether or not I see the movie.
- Black Mass, Dick Lehr and Gerald O’Neill – I’m a huge fan of Benedict Cumberbatch so I learned about this movie when he was filming it last summer in Boston. I’m curious about the back-story on this so I definitely want to read the book!
Are any of these on your to-read list?
