Monday Motivation (#12)

Standard

Today’s Monday Motivation is very late…but better late than never, right? Today’s quotes are all focused around something I’ve been doing a lot lately – learning.

Granted, we’re probably all continually learning one thing or another but I’ve been purposely trying to learn some programming skills. I’m about 40% complete with an only training class in HTML. While I knew a bit of HTML prior to the course, it’s great to have a more comprehensive background of the language!

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something.” ~ Neil Gaiman

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” ~ Benjamin Franklin

“With every book, you go back to school. You become a student. You become an investigative reporter. You spend a little time learning what it’s like to live in someone else’s shoes.” ~ John Irving

“The minute that you’re not learning I believe you’re dead.” ~ Jack Nicholson

So what have you been learning lately, or what’s next on your list to learn? Or have you recently learned things purely by change or circumstance?

I’m a senior citizen and perhaps to some people the things I learn are minor on the grand scale, but for me, they’re important and I believe that’s the key.
I’m finally learning how to use Windows 8…for me a big deal!

Learning is always a good thing! I’m sure to some people learning HTML is minor (it’s one of the more entry-level programming languages). As long as it makes you happy, or improves your life, then it’s worth it!
