Today is the final day of the opening round in the 2015 Tournament of Books. Have you found the insights from the judges and the commentators as interesting as I have?
Today’s match pits Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng against Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay by Elena Ferrante. I’ve read Ng’s book and really enjoyed it but hadn’t heard of Ferrante’s until the tournament. Since I haven’t read them both I can’t really comment on my opinion of the judge’s choice. Has anybody read Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay? After reading the descriptions by the judge and commentators I can’t say that it sounds interesting to me.
You can check out the judge’s opinion and read full match commentary here. Tomorrow the quarterfinals begin with The Bone Clocks facing off against A Brief History of Seven Killings. Have you read either of those and are you rooting for one over the other? Also, if you didn’t see my post last week, Powell’s is offering 30% off the 2015 ToB selections for a limited time!
