Wednesday’s Word (#15)

Happy Wednesday! Since it’s now the midpoint in the week, it’s time for a new post about a fun word I want to share with you!

This week’s word is…

the action, process, or result of combining or uniting (as defined by the Oxford English Dictionary)

What I love about this word is what I love about many seldom-used words: there are simpler variations that are more commonly used – combining or uniting, in this case. That makes words like amalgamation fun; they feel like a secret. The circumstances that brought this word to mind?

I recently made a body scrub using coconut oil, brown sugar, and granulated white sugar. The coconut oil is great for your skin and the sugars help slough off dead cells. It’s a heavenly smelling amalgamation if I do say so myself! Since I’m still on my no-carb diet, I can at least smell like a delicious sugar cookie even if I can’t eat one, right?

Happy Wednesday!
