It’s Monday, the start of a new week! I had some interesting ideas for stories fall into my lap over the past week so today’s post focuses on storytelling. Here are some quotes to inspire you to get your thoughts down on paper (or whatever medium you use to write)!
“You can’t visit readers where you think they are. You have to invite them home to where you are and try to lure them into your universe. That’s the art of storytelling.” ~ Jo Nesbo
“After nourishment, shelter and companionship, stories are the thing we need most in the world.” ~ Phillip Pullman
“We need to look hard at the stories we create, and wrestle with them. Retell and retell them, and work with them like clay. It is in the retelling and returning that they give us their wisdom.” ~ Marni Gillard
“Great stories happen to those who can tell them.” ~ Ira Glass
“Storytelling reveals meaning without committing the error of defining it.” ~ Hannah Arendt
“Inside each of us is a natural-born storyteller just waiting to be released.” ~ Robin Moore
I have my own projects to start but I would also invite you to invite readers in to your world. Writing can be a challenge but rarely are things that are easy highly worth the effort!
