Monday Motivation (#27)

Since it’s the beginning of the week, it’s time once again for Monday Motivation, a regular post where I include quotes–from authors, books, wherever–to help get your week off to a great start. I recently finished The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, and found the writing moving and beautiful, so I thought I’d share a few quotes from the book.

“Few things leave a deeper mark on the reader, than the first book that finds its way to his heart.”

“Books are mirrors: you only see in them what you already have inside you.”

“Making money isn’t hard in itself… What’s hard is to earn it doing something worth devoting one’s life to.”

“Destiny is usually just around the corner. Like a thief, a hooker, or a lottery vendor: its three most common personifications. But what destiny does not do is home visits. You have to go for it.”

“I believe that nothing happens by chance. Deep down, things have their secret plan, even though we don’t understand it.”

“Fools talk, cowards are silent, wise men listen.”

I hope your week is off to a great start–happy Monday!
