Do you ever encounter things in life that you just don’t want to do but in which you have no say? Welcome to life! There are some things that you can change (removing toxic people from your life) and some you can’t. For the things you can’t change, it’s important to change your attitude and focus on the positive experiences (otherwise, you fall into a vicious cycle of being annoyed by everything about this person/situation). This week’s Monday Motivation includes quotes about the importance of your attitude toward things in life.
The beginning of a new year is an excellent time to challenge yourself and set goals (I won’t say resolutions because I personally dislike the term). Since the year has barely begun, I’m including some quotes that will hopefully inspire you to kick things off right for both a new week and a new year.
Since it’s the beginning of the week, it’s time once again for Monday Motivation, a regular post where I include quotes–from authors, books, wherever–to help get your week off to a great start. I recently finished The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, and found the writing moving and beautiful, so I thought I’d share a few quotes from the book.
In celebration of July 4th and American Independence Day, here are some quotes about freedom and independence. While I don’t love everything about how things are run in the United States, I’m so thankful for our many freedoms!
I don’t know about any of you out there in the interwebs but I did not want to get out of bed this morning. I had registered for a pilates class at 6:00 am (!!) so I had to get up at 5:15. I kept trying to determine if there was a way out of it without paying a late cancellation fee but I finally just got up. [I am not a morning person, can you tell?]
And I’m so glad that I went! I got a great workout in early and now I can relax–well, aside from work–for the rest of the day. Sometimes you just have to do the things you know are good for you even if you don’t really want to.
On that theme, I’ve rounded up a few quotes to motivate you to go out there, take chances, and just do it!
Wow, I got sick last week! I haven’t been that sick in a long time, for which I’m thankful. I’m not sure if I just got regular allergies that developed into something more or if I picked up a bug while I was out somewhere. Either way, I’m very thankful to be doing better now. To celebrate being [almost] back to normal, here are some quotes related to health to kick off your week.
